Ken Onion Kitchen Knife DM0500

Ken engineered this original design by observing techniques employed by culinary professionals like Bobby Flay, Alton Brown and Sara Moulton.  He spent endless hours meticuously studying their angles and movements as they worked with their knives.

Shun Classic is not only beautiful but practical.This  absolutely stunning line of cutlery features the look and benefits of Damascus steel, yet without its rusting problems.  Its forged VG-10 "super steel" blade  is clad with 16 layers of SUS410 high-carbon stainless steel on each side to produce a rust-free Damascus-look blade. This exquisite wavy design profile also reduces food's ability to stick to the blade and results in less damage.

Japanese knife shapes are traditional. The Santoku knife shape has always been a Japanese favorite and is used as a Chef's knife.  The santoku is useful for straight chopping, mincing, and slicing of larger quantities of vegetables and meat. Cooks with smaller hands may also prefer this 6 1/2" blade as the shorter length offers better control while cutting. The width also provides a great platform for transporting chopped vegetables from cutting board to sauté pan.  

The Cleaver shape is the traditional Chinese Chef's knife and is especially useful to cleave bones, open lobsters and do high volume chopping of meats and vegetables.  Add the classic Chef's knife and the versatile Bread knife and this 4 Pc Shun Classic Set supplies all the basic needs for any chef.
